Niña de tus ojos

Okay, for all you non-spanish speaking people out there, the title for todays post means "Apple of your Eyes" in spanish. This is the title of the song that my baby girl danced to this past sunday in our church. In our church we have a girls ministry that's called Missionette's (actually, the name has recently changed to National Girls Ministries). Its a discipleship program for preschool through high school girls. I love this program. It makes learning biblical principles fun and motivating for the girls. It truly is awesome. So anyways, starting this past Sunday we've been celebrating "Girls Ministries week". The service was great! We started off with praise and worship (which I'm very proud to say that my DH leads) and then the word was presented in form of a play which also involved some songs and dances. One of those dances was done by my beautiful princess and her cousin Evelyn. They did such a great job. I was so proud of them (Great job Princess Evelyn). Miss Evelyn and Alyssa love to dance! My baby girl is only 4, and she had me a little worried. She was suppose to be practicing at home but everytime it was time to practice with me she was tired, hungry, and/or sleepy. It was so frustrating. But when it was time to practice with Jessica (choreographer)...forget it! She was all for it. So, I must say...I was so touched by their dance. The song is one of our (Irv, Alyssa, and mine) favorites so it made it even more special. I'm also very proud of my sis Bethsy. She is the coordinator of this ministry and she actually wrote the play the girls did which was also great. She's the bomb! I'm proud of you girl! So...here you have it. My first VLOG! How cool! Its not the play, just the dance. Make sure you scroll all the way down to pause the song on my playlist. Enjoy...and be blessed!

Oh! Anyone already familiar with the former MISSIONETTES program? Anyone a former MISSIONETTE? Comment if so...let me know!

Oh Margie, I still get all teary eyed when I see the girls. It made my heart melt when I saw Evelini up there...she is such a beautiful little girl. Of course Alyssa, and her beautiful self was so grown up!!!! The sweetest thing was that when she was done, she ran straight back into her daddies arms...Irving hugged her and oh girl..that's when I started crying..you know me and the Cuevas crying genes. I can not express how grateful I am to Bethsy and the extrodianary job she does with these girls, because as you know, My own Jacqueline, has reaped the benefits of being an HONOR STAR!!!!
Very proud of this ministry.

Girl, I am so proud of all my girls but I was extra proud of Evelyn and Alyssa. Not because they are my nieces or because they are Missionettes (I know! I know! the name changed but they will always be missionettes to me) but honestly what they did was very magical and special. That just proves that if you put your efforts into it, anything can happen. Oh yea, thanks for the props. The glory all goes to God who gave me the play and strength to get it all done...but I must share the light with my teachers who helped put it all together and my girls who actually pull it through. I Love My Missionettes!!!!!

Yeap, it was truly an amazing service and the dance was beautiful. Every one did a great job - Bethsy writing the play and every one else executing it. And one of my favorite parts was the dance. Alyssa and Evelyn were AWESOME!. My other favorite was Jacqueline's part in the play. It definitely provided some comedy relief.

Margie, babes, thanks for posting the video! I think I got more emotional watching it then when I was there! lol... Everyone did an amazing job and I'm so glad I was a part of it. And whoever the anonymous blogger was (didn't write their name) I agree about the comic relief w/ Jacqueline! I was the teacher up there with her, and I can't even explain what happened! But I guess it provided some laughs... lol The dance by Alyssa & Evelyn was wonderful, and I can't wait to see them develop their talents!

What can I say, proud mommy of Evelyn and proud auntie of Alyssa. They were amazing. So sweet, angelical even. I teared from the moment my girl Evelyn stepped on stage. Miss Alyssa was so graceful and then the hug I got at the end only finished it with a bang! Can't believe time if flying by so fast! They are both a major blessing! Couldn't see the video but I was there in person and it was wonderful!!! Love ya! Ely

I'm glad you sent out your link. I was a bit worried because I sent you an email months ago and had no response. Receiving your "new" email with this link was the best thing you could have sent me. You've made me cry like a baby. I miss you guys so much and seeing you through pics, at least, brings me closer to home. I rejoice in seeing how the girls have grown in all aspects. Bethsy... keep up the good work girl!! Margie your kids are soooo big and beautiful. I can't get over how much they've grown. By the way... love your hair!

My greatest joy was seeing how my prior students are now teachers!! Wow!!! I just thank God so much for having been used to be a part of their lives (even if it were just a small part). Keep up the good work girls!! You "Rock"!!

I miss all of you, I miss my church, I miss my family....yeah basically I miss everything (that entails all you guys, of course). Wish I had all of you with me here.

Love you guys dearly!!

That was the best. I am rushing to get some work done before I leave to Chicago this morning and in all the rush this made me stop and smile! Great job ChiChi!!!Titi Jackie loves you very much. You have to teach Adrianna all your dances so she can be like you :) By the way, I didn't know the name changed. Wow that's weird! Jackie R.

Thank you for sharing this blog with me. There are so many things that you tend to miss out on when you are so far away but I'm glad that at least through this blog I can have a little part of you guys with me. I miss you all dearly and rejoice with all that is happening with the Missionettes. Although the name has changed, I join in with Bethsy by saying that for me they will always be Missionettes. You guys have a beautiful group of girls. Praise God for that. It was nice seeing all of you through pictures and it was nice to share Sunday's presentation through the video. The girls did such a beautiful job. Look forward to future blogs. Pictures are awesome. Receive a huge hug and kiss and give me love to hubby and the kids. Miss you all greatly! Until next time. Muah!!!!!! Love Maribel
